Let’s start making a crocheted duck with unusual colors. First, we will crochet the duck’s big and cute body. The body of the toy is crocheted with malva yarn. Let’s get started.

Body

WITH MALVA YARN
1. 6sc in the MR (6)
2. 6inc (12)
3. (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times (18)
4. 1sc, 1inc (2sc, 1inc) repeat 5 times, 1sc (24)
5. (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times (30)
6. 15sc, 2inc, 13sc (32)
7. 17sc, 1inc, 14sc (33)
8. 15sc, 3dec, 12sc (30)
9. 15sc, 1dec, 12sc (28)
10. 14sc, 1dec, 12sc (27)
11. 7sc, 1dec, 5sc, 1dec, 4sc, 1dec, 5sc (24)
12. 24sc (24)
13. (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times (18)
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

After crocheting the body of the toy as you see above, you need to crochet the head of the toy and assemble it. You can do this by simply sewing it.

13 to 14. 41 sc (41)) 2 rows

PLACE THE EYES BETWEEN ROWS 10/11 WITH 6 sc VISIBLE AWAY, AND SO THAT THE INCREASES IN ROW 12 ARE ON THE SIDES OF THE EYES, GIVING THE SHAPE OF THE CHEEKS.

15. 9sc, 3dec, 12sc, 3dec, 9sc (36)
16. 2sc, 1dec, (4sc, 1dec) repeat 5 times, 2sc (30)

18. 1sc, 1dec (2sc, 1dec) repeat 5 times, 1sc (18)
Fasten off and hide the thread, sew the head to the body.

After crocheting the duck’s head, it is recommended that you stuff it tightly. Another detail that is not included in the instructions but that I can suggest is that you can tighten the area where the eyes are. I must honestly admit that I came across an unusual and quite large beak design compared to the ducks I have seen before. Of course, we will crochet the duck’s beak using orange color.

Beak

1. 1inc, 5sc, 1inc, 5sc, 1inc (17)

Feet and Legs (X2)

WITH THE ORANGE THREAD
5ch go back to the 2nd chain from the hook and make:
1. 1inc, 2sc, 1inc. 3 sc (10)
2. 1inc, 4sc, 1inc, 4 sc (12)
3 to 5. 12 sc (12) | 3 rows
6. 1dec, 4sc, 3dec (8)
7. 6sc, 1dec (7)
8 to 10. 7 sc (17) 3 rows
Fasten off and leave a long thread for sewing, fold the ends of the feet if necessary and sew between row 5/6.

Hair

WITH MAUVE YARN
4ch, mark the last ch and make 6 more ch, go back to the 2nd ch from the needle and make:
1. (5slst, skip 1 base stitch and fasten with 1sc in the next stitch) x3 (15)
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew between row 2/3, catching a part of the forehead

We see that there is a necklace-like piece made of purple on the neck of the toy. It is quite natural to use such pieces, especially at the connection points of the neck of the toys, because it is a very good way to hide the connection point of the head and body.

Neck

WITH LAVENDER YARN
2ch, go back to the 1st ch and do:
1. (1hdc, 2ch) repeat 6 times
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew between rows 12/13

Tail

WITH LAVENDER YARN
5ch, go back to the 2nd ch from the hook and do: 1. 4slst, 5ch, 4slst
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew between rows 9/10

That’s it. If you followed all the instructions in the amigurumi pattern, your toy is ready!
