1 ball of Amigurumi – Colors: 7564, 7567, 3154, 4456
Crochet hook – 3.5 mm/E4
Safety Eyes (Brown) – 20 mm/1”
Tapestry Needle – n° 13
Polyester Stuffing
Size: 44 cm/17.5” height and 29 cm/11.5” long

Abbreviations
Single crochet = sc Slip stitch = sl st
chain = ch
Decrease = dec
Increase = inc
Triple increase = 3 sc in one stitch = 3 sc inc

AMIGURUMI HORSE CROCHET FREE PATTERN

Head
Use color 7564
Row 1: 10 sc inside the magic ring.
Row 2: 10 inc = 20 sc.
Row 3: 20 sc.
Row 4: 1 sc, 1 inc = 30 sc.
Rows 5-10: 30 sc.

Row 11: 2 sc,
1 inc = 40 sc.
Row 12: 3 sc, 1 inc = 50 sc.
Rows 13 – 16: 50 sc.
Row 17: 24 sc (1 inc, 3 sc) 4x, 1 inc, 9 Sc = 55 sc.
Row 18: 25 sc, (1 inc, 4 sc) 4x, 1 inc, 9 sc = 60 sc.
Row 19: 60 sc.
Row 20: 9 sc, 1 inc = 66 sc.

Attach safety eyes between rows 12 &13, 8 stitches apart. The horse’s face is where instructions in parentheses are (rows 17 and 18).
Rows 21-24: 66 sc.
Row 25:9 sc, 1 dec = 60 sc. Row 26: 8 sc, 1 dec = 54 sc.
Row 27: 7 sc, 1 dec = 48 sc. Row 28: 6 sc, 1 dec = 42 sc. Row 29: 5 sc, 1 dec = 36 sc. Row 30: 4 sc, 1 dec = 30 sc. Row 31: 3 sc, 1 dec = 24 sc. Row 32: 2 sc, 1 dec = 18 sc. Insert stuffing.
Row 33: 1 sc, 1 dec = 12 sc.
Row 34: 6 dec = 6 sc.
Fasten off weaving through front loops and pull tight to close the gap.

Ch 41 and skip 16 chains.
Row 1: 24 sc, 13 sc inc, 23 sc,16 sc into skipped chains = 66 sc.
Row 2: 23 sc, 4 inc, 39 sc = 70 sc. Row 3:9 sc, 1 inc = 77 sc.
Row 4: 77 sc.
Row 5: 25 sc, (1 inc,1 sc) 5x, 1 inc, 41 sc = 83 sc.
Rows 6-18: 83 sc.
Row 19: 76 sc, 1 dec, 5 sc = 82 sc. Fasten off.

Belly
Use color 7564
Fold body in half and insert a stitch marker in both ends.
Skip 10 sc from the marker. Work back and forth.
Rows 1-4: 20 sc.
Row 5: 20 sc, ch 6.
Row 6: 25 sc.
Fasten off. Do the same on other side. Sew middle of belly and then sew where the stitch markers are.

Legs
Use color 7564
Join in the belly space.
Rows 14: 22 sc.
Row 5:1 dec, 9 sc = 20 sc.
Rows 6 14: 20 sc.

Switch to color 7567
Row 15: 20 sc.
Row 16: 3 sc, 1 dec = 16 sc.
Rows 17-19: 16 sc.
Insert stuffing.
Row 20: 8 dec, work into back loop only = 8 sc.
Fasten off weaving through front loops and pull tight to close the gap. Insert stuffing into body after finishing legs.

Neck
Use color 7564
Join onto body.
Rows 14:16 sc.
Fasten off leaving extra thread to sew.

SADDLE
Use color 3154
Ch 13.
Row 1: 11 sc, 1 x 3 sc inc, 11 sc, 1x 3 sc inc = 28 sc.
Row 2: 10 sc, 4 inc, 10 sc, 4 inc = 36 sc.
Row 3: 36 sc.

Row 4: 1 inc, 11 sc, (1 inc, 1 sc) 3x, 1 inc, 11 sc, (1 inc, 1 sc) 3x. = 44 sc.
Row 5: 1 sc, 1 inc, 12 sc (1 inc, 2 sc.) 3x, 1 inc, 12 sc (1 inc, 2 sc) 2x, 1 inc, 1 sc. = 52 sc.
Switch to color 4456
Row 6: 52 sc.
Row 7: 2 sc, 1 inc, 13 sc (1 inc, 3 sc) 3x, 1 inc, 13 sc (1 inc, 3 sc) 2x, 1 inc, 1 sc. = 60 sc.
Row 8: 60 sc. Switch to color 3154
Row 9:9 sc, 1 inc = 66 sc. Switch to color 4456
Row 10: work into the front loop only = 66 sc.
Fasten off.

Belly Band
Use color 4456
Join oval side of the saddle. Work back and forth and into the back loop only.
Row 1: 6 sc.
Row 2: 1 dec, 2sc, 1 dec = 4 sc.
Rows 3-33: 4 sc.
Row 34: 1 inc, 2sc, 1 inc = 6 sc.
Fasten off and sew onto other side of saddle.

Breast Collar (2X)
Use color 3154
Join saddle into the 4 sc from the belly band, work into back loop only.
Rows 1-4: 4 sc.
Row 5: 2 dec = 2 sc.
Rows 6-12: 2 sc.
Fasten off leaving extra thread to tie.

Horse Halter
Use color 4456

Nose Band
Ch 38, close with 1 sl st. and make 38 sc.

Reins
Ch 49, 1 sl st. onto other side and work back into the foundation ch = 48 sc, join with 1 sl st.

Headstall
Ch 40, 1 sl st. onto other side and work back into foundation ch = 40 sc.
Fasten off.

Assembly
Sew ears on top of head 9 stitches apart and 10 rows away from the eyes. Join color 7567 between ears, ch 13, work back into the foundation ch = 12 sc and join with 1 sl st. Repeat as many times you like to make mane.

Sew head onto neck, If necessary, add more stuffing into head so that head does not fall. Use color 7567 to make the tail, join in the back (tushy) ch 15, work back into the foundation chain = 14 sc and close with 1 sl st. Repeat 3 times.
Place the saddle and tie breast collar.
Put halter on the horse.
